Every fair question we get asked, honestly answered.
The short version: yes they look real, no you don't water them, no the vase isn't separate, and Sarah will reply within a business day if anything else comes up.
The realism question.
Do these really look real?
That's the whole point, and the short answer is yes — at arm's length they read as fresh, and up close the petals have weight and texture you don't expect. We use real-touch flock petals, hand-arrange the proportions, set the foliage so it leans naturally, and pour faux water into every glass vessel. The water-in-glass detail is the trick most "fake flower" arrangements skip.
If you've been burned by silk flowers before, we get it. We wrote a full piece on why those usually look fake →
What are they made of?
Real-touch latex and flocked petals (not silk), shaped wire stems for the bending and re-shaping, and hand-cast resin leaves. The bowls and vases are real glass — we don't substitute acrylic. The faux water is a poured polymer, set firm so it doesn't slosh.
Will the colour fade in sunlight?
Like most fresh-look florals, direct strong UV will slowly soften the colour over years. Keep the arrangement out of long direct afternoon sun and it'll hold its colour indefinitely. A bright room with diffused light? No issue. A north-facing window with full summer sun? Move it.
Can I use them outdoors?
Short stints on a covered patio for a dinner party — fine. Outdoors as a permanent thing — we don't recommend it. The petals and faux water aren't built for weather, and you'll see colour shift much faster.
What's in the box.
Is the vase included?
Always. Every arrangement on our store comes vased, faux-water set, and ready to place. The price on each piece is the finished arrangement — no separate vase, no flat-pack assembly, no scissors involved.
How are they packed?
Paper-wrapped and hand-set into a sized box. No plastic clamshells, no styrofoam. The vessel is wrapped separately from the arrangement and protected against transit knocks.
Are they safe for kids and pets?
No pollen, no sap, no toxic dyes — so practically speaking, yes, much safer than fresh flowers around curious noses and small hands. That said, the stems have shaped wire and the bowls are real glass, so we'd still keep them out of reach of toddlers and rough-and-tumble dogs.
Care & longevity.
How long do they last?
With normal indoor placement and a gentle dust every few weeks — years. We won't put a specific number on it because that depends on your room, the light, and whether the cat decides to investigate. Customers we know who've had pieces for 4+ years say they still look like the day they arrived.
How do I clean them?
A soft, dry brush — a clean makeup brush is ideal — every few weeks for the petals. A microfiber cloth on the vase. A hairdryer on cool-low setting if anything gets dusty in awkward spots. Full care guide here →
Do I need to top up the faux water?
No. The faux water is poured-and-set — it's permanent. Don't try to add real water on top; it won't combine cleanly and you'll cloud the glass.
Shipping & returns.
How fast do you ship?
Same or next business day dispatch from our Melbourne workshop. Australia Post tracked, 2–7 business days transit depending on state. Free over $200, flat $15 under.
What if mine arrives damaged?
Photo + email within 7 days and we replace or refund — no fuss, no quibbling. We pack carefully but Australia Post handles plenty of boxes and sometimes a stem snaps in transit. We'll sort it.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
14 days from delivery in original condition, customer pays return shipping. Please don't try to return one that's been styled, dusted, posted on Instagram, then quietly sent back — we know.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at launch. We're focused on Australian orders for the first capsule. If there's enough international interest we'll revisit.
Sourcing & trade.
Are these the same as the ones at the larger home stores?
Honest answer: we source from the same Australian supplier as some of those stores, but the styling, vesseling, faux-water finishing and on-room photography are entirely ours. You're paying for the curated capsule and the finished look, not just the stems.
Can I order in bulk for an event or office?
Yes — drop us a line via the contact page with what you're after, the room context, and rough quantity. We can arrange custom builds, longer lead times where needed, and small trade discounts above five pieces.
We're a small team. Just email us.
